Anguilla Travel Guide: Welcome

Anguilla is an island that is separated from the island of Saint Martin by the Anguilla Channel near the Caribbean Sea. Its neighbors are the Virgin Islands, Saint Martin, and Puerto Rico. The Anguilla island is best described as a shrub land where low shrubs and grass dominate the vegetation. It is a low sea level island that mainly consists of limestone, thin soil, and coral reefs. The coral reefs in Anguilla are spectacular specimens of environmental importance, including many other cays and islands that are mostly uninhabited by human encroachment.

The islands of Sandy island, Seal island, Anguillita, Prickly Pear Cays, Dog Island, and Scrub island are all tourist islands with a few beach front hotel resorts and restaurants for tourists who want to spend time on a private paradise of their own. There is another small mostly uninhabited island called Sombrero Island. This island is also called Hat Island since the island looks like a Sombrero from an aerial view. Tourists will never have to worry about a rat race on the island of Anguilla or any of its other surrounding islands because its general population is only 14,000 people.

There are many other islands on the west side of Anguilla that will have a lot more tourism. Tourists can take a ferry boat from the Blowing Point terminal to other islands, such as Cove Bay, Shaddick Point, Maundays Bay, and Rendezvous Bay.
